With less than two weeks remaining until the Beijing ePrix, Swiss watch giant TAG Heuer has ramped up the level of anticipation in the city by holding a much-publicised VIP event to celebrate its new status as official timekeeper of the revolutionary racing series.
The glamorous event also served as an opportunity for TAG Heuer to announce their new partnership with Team China Racing, with its drivers Nelson Piquet Jr, Ho-Pin Tung and reservist Antonio Garcia to all sport the fabled watchmaker’s logo on their overalls and cars.
“We are proud to be part of the world’s newest and most innovative open championship”, TAG Heuer’s Stéphane Linder said.
“Formula E, like TAG Heuer, is a fusion of engineering, technology, sport, science, and design — all combining to drive the change towards a better tomorrow.”
Meanwhile, Beijing’s Taikoo Li Sanlitun Shopping Centre was awash with motorsport fans during the weekend as the Formula E showcar was on display to passers-by, who could also pose for photographs alongside life-size cardboard Formula E pilots.
