Series boss Alejandro Agag has announced that one of Formula E’s European venues could be set to host two races across two consecutive days to compensate for the loss of a round through the Rio de Janeiro ePrix’s cancellation.
An additional race as part of a special double-header would bring the number of rounds in the championship back up to the original 10.
The two-day race meeting, differing in format to the series’ usual quick-fire one-day events, would take place in Monte Carlo, Berlin or London.
Formula E is also planning the addition of more rounds for next season, with Paris, Vancouver and Atlanta rumoured to be front-running candidate hosts.
