Formula E organisers have today announced that the Putrajaya ePrix will be postponed to November 22, 2014.
The second round of the FIA Formula E Championship was initially due to take place on October 18, approximately one month after the championship’s opening race in Beijing.
The rescheduling was requested by the office of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, after it became apparent that he would not be able to attend the event on its original date.
Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E, said: “The Prime Minister has been fundamental to the FIA Formula E Championship racing in Malaysia and, following lengthy consultation with the FIA and the local motorsport federation, Formula E has decided to honour the request to reschedule the Putrajaya ePrix.”
All other FIA Formula E Championship dates remain unchanged.
