Antonio Felix da Costa will replace Takuma Sato for the second Formula E round in Putrajaya, the Amlin Aguri team has today confirmed.
The 23-year-old racer will represent the Japanese squad alongside teammate Katherine Legge.
Da Costa missed the first round of the inaugural Formula E season, the Beijing ePrix, due to a schedule clash with the EuroSpeedway Lausitz round of the DTM touring car series.
Japanese Formula One and IndyCar ace Sato stepped in to fill Da Costa’s vacant seat at the Beijing ePrix, managing to score two championship points for Amlin Aguri by posting the fastest lap of the race.
With Da Costa now having returned to the team, it is expected that Amlin Aguri will retain the da Costa-Legge lineup for the remainder of the Formula E season.
“I am delighted to compete in the Formula E inaugural season and I am proud to have been chosen by Amlin Aguri”, Da Costa enthused.
“With Formula E we see history being made and I’m excited to be right at the heart of this new project.”
