Buemi and Prost to drive for e.dams

Nicolas Prost Sebastien Buemi edams e.dams Formula E

e.dams, the Formula E squad co-owned by legendary F1 World Champion Alain Prost and DAMS racing team founder Jean-Paul Driot, has today announced that its Spark-Renault SRT 01Es will be piloted by Sébastien Buemi and Nicolas Prost.

The driver confirmation was accompanied with the announcement that Renault, engine supplier to the series, would be the team’s title sponsor.

Both of the announced drivers currently compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship with considerable success. At last month’s Le Mans, Buemi achieved a podium finish in the LMP1 Toyota TS040, while Prost helped pilot the Rebellion Racing machine to a class win in the LMP-1 category.

Both drivers have also had experience in F1. Prost is currently a reserve driver for the Lotus F1 team, while Buemi is an Infiniti Red Bull Racing reserve. Buemi has also famously raced for Scuderia Torro Rosso in the past.

e.dams co-owner Jean-Paul Driot commented: “We have recruited two very talented drivers for this exciting new challenge.”

“In addition to his driving skills, Nicolas Prost will bring his ability to think outside of the box to the table, as well as his technical background and his ability to analyse the technical aspects of this all-electric formula.

“Sébastien Buemi will bring his reputation and speed, along with the fact that he is extremely popular with the public and motor racing fans.”
