The Amlin Aguri Formula E team has revealed that Infiniti Red Bull Racing F1 reserve and BMW DTM racer António Félix da Costa will be joining Katherine Legge to complete its driver lineup.
He made his debut for Aguri Suzuki’s squad at last month’s shakedown test at Donington Park Racing Circuit and impressed the ex-F1 driver team boss with his performance.
The 22-year-old from Lisbon, Portugal has enjoyed a successful single-seater career so far, having shown promise in categories such as Formula Three and Formula Renault 2.0, most notably winning the legendary Macau Grand Prix Formula Three race from pole position in 2012.
Having now announced its final roster, Amlin Aguri has become the seventh team to confirm its drivers for the upcoming inaugural Formula E season.
“I am delighted to compete in the Formula E inaugural season and I am proud to have been chosen by Amlin Aguri. I am thrilled by what I believe is the championship of the future”, Félix da Costa proclaimed.
“With Formula E we see history being made and I’m excited to be right at the heart of this new project. I have no doubt we’ll see this championship drive real innovation and advances in technology.”
